Ideas must be posted to the Message Board

"Greetings, Meetup.com has added some new functionality which allows people to post ideas and share them with the rest of the group. ... MoreWhen an "idea" is posted, it automatically sends an email to every member, and then, when another members think it's a good idea, it generates yet another email. Unfortunately, this opens the door to advertisers / spammers to email our group without anyone's approval. They simply just have to post their advertisement as an "idea" and every member will get their spam. Also, it generates lots of emails even if the "idea" is legitimate. Tonight, as soon as I heard that this new "Idea Feature" became a problem I disabled it for the Chicago Off Leash Dog Recreation Group. Individuals can change their default e-mail settings to block these emails by going to http://www.meetup.com... then click on "Edit email settings" for each of their groups. We had a similar problem less than two years ago, when the distribution list "feature" created an email storm within our group. Members were justifiably FURIOUS, as their cell phones / PDA's and Blackberry's were going off at all hours. We disabled the distribution list "feature". Only the Organizers can use the distribution list capability to email members. Members MUST POST their ideas to the Message Board. All legitimate ideas are welcome. As always, if you have any questions, ideas or complaints, please email me directly. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Best Wishes, Miss Coquette, Brodie and their human parents (H & Chad) "

Can someone help take pictures this Sunday?

"Hi I enjoy taking pictures of the doggies having fun and posting the photos on this site. However, currently I do not have a camera. If you have a working camera, can you bring it this Sunday to the Small Dog Play Date? ... MoreI've tried using the camera on my cell phone but it doesn't work that well. Thanks H "
